The digital currency is a form of currency that is used only in digital or electronic form, and not in physical form.It is also called digital money, electronic money or electronic currency.
Digital currencies are intangible and can only be owned and transacted by using computers or electronic wallets connected to the Internet.While physical currencies, like banknotes and coins, are tangible and transactions are possible only by their holders who have their physical ownership.
Like any standard currency, digital currencies can be used to buy goods as well as to pay for services.The People's Bank of China(PBOC)is aiming to make banknotes and coins electronic and internationalized(国际化).“For the internationalization of RMB,we have said many times that it's a natural process and our goal is not to replace the US dollar or any other international currency,”Li Bo,deputy governor(副行长)of the PBOC said.“I think our goal is to allow the market to choose and to improve international trade.”
China's digital yuan is popular with most of the people in China.Now the PBOC is taking some steps to make it play an increasingly important role, especially in all kinds of trades at home and abroad.
